STEPS Family Guide
The useful information from the service package, presented as an easy reference instead of a PDF.
A familiar rhythm. Predictable days with time for play, meals, rest, stories, outdoor activity and everyday learning.
A smaller setting. Home-based care where children can be known individually and families communicate directly with Lisa.
Purposeful play. Children learn through exploring, imagining, helping, trying, sharing and practicing new skills.
Warm guidance. Clear expectations with patience, encouragement and respect for each child's age and personality.
Full day — $45. Up to 9 hours.
Half day — $26. Up to 5 hours, based on availability.
Meals and snacks are included. Children are also welcome to bring food from home when they prefer something familiar or have specialized food needs.
Only one care space per day is available for a child under 18 months.
Diapers, wipes and creams when required; weather-appropriate outdoor clothing; a comfort or sleep item when helpful; and any specialized medication, food or care supplies your child needs.
Illness. Children should remain home when they cannot comfortably participate in the normal day or when exclusion is required by the care illness policy.
Holidays and closures. Planned closures and schedule changes will be communicated in advance.
Alternate care. If Lisa is unavailable and a trusted substitute caregiver is used, families will be informed as reasonably practicable.
1. Reach out. Ask about availability and tell Lisa about your child.
2. Come visit. Meet Lisa, see the space and talk through expectations.
3. Register. Complete the interactive family, child, emergency and permission information below.
4. Begin. Confirm the schedule and help your child settle into their new rhythm.

What this means
Rather than attaching a legal-looking PDF, STEPS explains the important points clearly and asks families to acknowledge each section during enrollment.
Care takes place in a residence, with ordinary home features, a yard, household routines and age-appropriate play rather than a purpose-built child care centre.
Reasonable care and supervision are used, while recognizing that play, meals, outdoor activity and everyday movement cannot eliminate every possibility of injury or illness.
Families keep health, allergy, medication, behavioural, emergency-contact and access information complete and current.
Parents can authorize reasonable first aid, emergency services and necessary emergency medical assistance when they cannot be reached promptly.
These are the operating points families acknowledge during enrollment.
